how i move my body

i always grew up doing lots of sports, from surfing to skiing to gymnastics, i was always active. early in high school though i started getting into working out. i would play around with the types of workouts i did, but generally i always did more high intensity workouts. i did lots of boxing, strength workouts, and running. i always thought that a workout didn’t really “do anything” if it wasn’t high intensity exercise that got you sweaty and tired.

about 6 months ago i decided to try out pilates, and i started walking every day. long story short – walking + pilates is the sh*t. it makes me so happy, and it has transformed my body in the best way possible. walking has leaned out my body, is low impact so it is easy on my body, and i genuinely enjoy it. my morning walks are the best parts of my day, and it really just makes me happy. pilates is such a wonderful form of low impact strengthening workouts that tones your body like CRAZY. i started doing pilates thanks to Tasha Franken and now it’s all i do!

every body is different, so it is most important to find a way of movement that YOU enjoy that makes you feel good. but, pilates + walking is my favorite :)
