my phone

can someone please grab my phone out of my hand and yell at me to get the f off of my phone and then throw it in the ocean so that i can never use it again?

i have such a love hate relationship with my phone, as i'm sure all of you reading can relate to.

i go on my phone to check my social media, scroll through Instagram and tik tok, to talk to my friends, to take photos, to even work, to write random midday thoughts in my notes app, to set reminders for myself, to check my emails, to get inspired through pinterest, to listen to music, to watch emma chamberlain on youtube, to listen to podcasts. the point is…i do a lot of shit on my phone. and here’s what i’ve noticed:

  1. i’ve noticed that a little time on my phone a day isn’t bad. it can even be nice to sit down for a moment and scroll through it to check in on the world.

  2. if i spend too much time on my phone it ruins my day. im not even being dramatic. it RUINS my day, my mood, my mental health, my confidence, my motivation, it shakes me up and not in a good way.

okay well that’s it. moral of this is that i need to find a balance and i’m really going to try and work hard at it, because i just know how much better i’ll feel when i do. so if you are reading this and feel the same way, here’s your sign to start finding that balance too. list out things you love to do that aren’t on a phone, find other areas of your life to be productive in, fill your day with activities to do that take you away from your phone, see friends, read some books, go on a walk, take a nap, and find a little balance. because we all could use less time on our phones xx
