calming your mind + body

we all experience stress, whether it’s on a small or large scale, we all experience it. and it is normal and okay to feel stress and overwhelmed, but it is also so important to manage this stress.

i feel like the idea of ‘always hustling’ and ‘non-stop working hard’ is so heavily encouraged in our world. i do think it is important to have challenges in our lives to maintain our drive and productivity, but i also think that it is just as important to prioritize rest and self-care. it IS productive to take time for YOURSELF to rest and slow down.

finding the balance is key. the balance between challenging yourself to work hard and knowing when your body needs space to rest and recharge. and having this balance is so important to manage our stress and anxiety, and even to prevent burn out.

my favorite way to create this balance is setting time aside in my day for me to calm my body + mind, and do the things that prioritize me. these include meditating, stretching my body, doing a workout, going on a walk outside. these simple things take me away from my phone, my work, people, and the little things that build up into stress and anxiety. so, i encourage you to make time to slow down your mind and prioritize yourself today. even if it’s for just 10 minutes, or for an hour, do something for YOU today.
