discipline

discipline is a hard thing to have. whether it’s discipline with working out, eating well, school, its a hard thing to continue to stay motivated to put the effort in. 

i’m at a point in my life where with certain things like exercising and eating well, it has become so normal to me that it is easy to stay disciplined with it. i think that if you do something enough, it becomes so normal that your day feels incomplete without it. it’s like building endurance with running or walking. i used to walk a mile and feel exhausted. then i slowly would go farther every walk. a few months later i’m walking 5 miles at a time and feel so capable and good after it. 

it’s the same with any habit. whether it’s working out, eating healthy, making your bed, if you do it enough it will start to become more normal in your daily life. you build endurance with this habit which will push you to feel more capable to maintain it.

so - moral of this is if you want to develop discipline in some area of your life, just start making it a daily goal to incorporate it into your day. make time for your goals. even a little time dedicated to it every day is better than nothing. and eventually you will build up your discipline + have it be a part of your every day life.
