“that girl”

as i’m sure most of you know, there is a trend floating on tik tok that highlights being “that girl”. for those of you that don’t know about this, it’s basically sharing motivation and an aesthetic to be that girl that prioritizes herself and self care, exercises, eats healthy, and lives an overall healthy + aesthetic lifestyle.

it definitely is just a silly trend, but i think the overall message of promoting living a healthy and happy lifestyle is really cute + amazing. so…i want to share some of my favorite tips to be “that girl”.

  1. healthy eating: finding healthy foods that you truly enjoy and make you feel good is most important. i think following diets just to ‘lose weight’ or achieve some goal can turn out to be really restrictive and just not sustainable in the long run. so, finding a way of eating that is healthy AND enjoyable is most important. and it doesn’t have to be complicated. i think the best ‘diet’ out there is just including whole foods as often as possible, listening to your body when it is hungry and full, and being mindful of the foods that you do put in your body.

  2. water: drinking lots of water. yes it seems simple, but it’s so important to keep your body hydrated. good for the skin, good for the digestion, good for the energy, good for everything.

  3. walking: walking is one of my favorite forms of movement. its an amazing form of cardio that keeps your body lean, it is low impact and stress-reducing on the body, and it truly makes my body + mind feel so much better. it gets me out of my head and is so therapeutic to go on a walk, especially outside in nature. so, i like to make it a goal to go on a walk every day.

  4. journal your goals: every day i make a list of goals for that day. it keeps me organized, de-clutters my head, and its honestly just satisfying checking things off throughout the day. on my list i’ll put things like drink water, go on a walk, workout, stretch, less phone time, and then other work/school goals i have for that day too.

  5. create a routine: i love my morning routine + my day is always better when i do it. i wake up, go on a walk, do a workout, shower + skincare, eat breakfast, and then i’m ready to start my day. your routine doesn’t have to be long or complicated, but just include a few of your favorite things. it can be a skincare routine, a workout, meditating, making breakfast, really just anything you love.
